The mocks were the hardest thing I'd ever sat. The actual exam felt easy by comparison.Tim C. · Year 9 Focus Group, JMSS 2025
Most tutoring sells hours.
We teach until it's
clear.
JMSS preparation and VCE, taught in groups of five or fewer. Every note written from scratch. Nothing moves forward until it makes sense.
The format changes.
The standard doesn't.
Never more than five
Group classes are capped at five students. Real discussion, individual feedback, and nowhere to quietly fall behind.
Precision over pace
We slow down when it matters and move forward only once understanding is secure. Speed is a result, not a method.
Built with intention
Every note, class and walkthrough exists to make one idea clearer. Anything that's only there to look thorough gets cut.
Structure without pressure
Clear plans, detailed written progress reports, no lock-in contracts and no manufactured urgency.
Support that continues
Every class is recorded and posted to the student portal with its notes, so nothing is lost if a week is missed. Questions between sessions reach a person, not a portal.
We'd rather show you than tell you.
Nine in ten JMSS Interview Prep students receive an offer. By interview day, the questions rarely surprise them.
Figures come from internal enrolment and results records across all cohorts, updated each year. Ask us how any number is counted and we'll show you.
Pick the format.
The teaching stays the same.

One student. One plan. Nothing shared, nothing recycled.
Private Coaching
From $55 an hourbilled weekly, no lock-in
Fully one on one. The curriculum, the pacing and every resource are built around a single student, then reshaped week by week as their understanding grows.
Sessions target exact goals, so no time is wasted re-covering what's already secure.
Correction happens where understanding falters, not just at the final answer.
Hard questions get video explanations the student keeps on the portal and can rewatch anytime.
Exam technique is woven through every session, never bolted on at the end.

Five students, maximum. We were the first to enforce it. We still do.
Focus Groups
From $30 an hourbilled weekly, no lock-in
Small cohorts, live each week on Zoom, with a curriculum designed around the specific students in the room. The cap is five, and it has never been broken.
Lessons and pacing are redesigned weekly around the actual group, not a term template.
Every student gets personal corrections outside class. No one disappears into the average.
Written for the cohort, marked to VCAA guidelines, followed by a group examiner's report.
Annotated notes and worksheets are written for each group, then posted to the portal with the recording.

Lecture-style by design, so seats are unlimited and the price stays low.
Masterclasses
From $17.50 an hourmost bundles paid upfront
Live webinar deep dives into specific subjects and exam preparation, built around the concepts students consistently get wrong. No cap on seats, which is exactly why they cost a fraction of a class.
Topics come from the sticking points we see every year, not a syllabus checklist.
Every question reflects how examiners assess, not how content is taught at school.
Attend a single session or take a bundle for a whole subject or exam. Most bundles are paid upfront, and that's the only upfront payment we do.
Detailed notes and worked examples stay with you well beyond the session.

Come to exactly what's useful. Skip everything that isn't.
Open Workshops
Usually $15 an hourvaries by topic, some sessions free
The lowest-commitment way to experience how we teach. Priced per topic, discounted for enrolled students, and some sessions are simply free, for anyone.
Notes and examples are built to the standard used across every other pathway.
Workshops address the gaps that persist even after school and other tutoring.
See exactly how Clarity Coaching teaches before committing to anything.
Select workshops run at no cost. Good teaching shouldn't always sit behind a price.
Which pathway fits your student?

Every price above is the real number. There are no enrolment fees, no term contracts, and nothing added at checkout that isn't on this table. Weekly pathways are pay-as-you-go and auto-deducted, so you only ever pay for the week ahead.
Six weeks to be sure. If it isn't right, full refund.
We don't run a token trial, because anyone can look impressive for a fortnight. You get six full weeks of classes to judge us properly. Engage with the class the way it's designed, and if you're still not convinced, every dollar comes back. Here's the whole deal, terms included:
Be in the room
Attend at least five of your first six weekly classes live. Classes run on Zoom, so the room comes to you.
Do the work
Complete 80% of the set homework on time. That's the honest test of whether the class fits.
Still not sure? Say so
One message gets you a full refund of every class. No forms, no hoops, no hard feelings.
You commit to engaging. We commit to the result. That's the deal.
Book a sessionThe confidence window covers both weekly pathways: private coaching and focus groups. Masterclasses and open workshops are pay-per-session, so there's nothing to refund your way out of. And if you'd rather risk nothing at all, start with a free open workshop.
A real team, led by the person who taught the first class.
Clarity Coaching is founder-led. Vihanga taught the first session five years ago and still writes curriculum, marks mocks and teaches today. Every tutor has sat these exams and earned the scores, subject leads review the teaching weekly, and the whole team holds one shared standard: the ability to make hard ideas make sense.
Questions get answered by a real person, usually within a day. The fastest way to reach us is to book a session.
What families say
when we don't ask.
Most of these arrived unprompted, in replies and messages. We've kept them as written.
He never asked us for a review. We had to email him ourselves. Our son got his JMSS offer.Parent · Focus Group, JMSS 2025
Most JMSS prep felt like drilling the same questions faster. This was the first time someone explained why answers work.Anonymous · JMSS Focus Group 2024
Five kids in the class and somehow it still felt like he was teaching just me. Came in for Methods on a 32 last year, finished on a 45.Student · VCE Maths Methods
My daughter complained the mock exams were really hard. On exam day she flew through with time to spare.Parent · Both Subjects, JMSS 2025
What sold me was that they were honest. I asked about a subject and instead of taking the money they told me my son didn't need help with that one yet.Parent · VCE
No lock-in contract felt unusual at first. Then we realised, that's the point. You stay because it works.Parent · Year 11, Private Coaching
Genuinely the only class my daughter doesn't try to get out of. The progress reports are really detailed too, I always know where she's at.Parent · VCE Focus Group
The portal is great, all the recordings and notes are just there whenever she misses something or wants to revise. Payments come out weekly without me having to think about it.Parent · VCE Focus Group
The questions every family asks first.
How do we know which pathway fits?
Book a session and tell us where things stand. We'll recommend one pathway, explain why, and tell you honestly if a cheaper option would serve your student just as well. The comparison table above is a good starting point.
What does it actually cost?
Focus groups run from $30 an hour and private coaching from $55 an hour, both billed weekly with no lock-in. Masterclasses start at $17.50 an hour, usually paid upfront as a bundle, and open workshops are usually $15 an hour with some sessions free. What's listed is what you pay: no enrolment fees, no materials fees, nothing added later.
How does the 6-week confidence window work?
On our weekly pathways, you get six full weeks of classes to judge whether it's right. Attend at least five of the six live, complete 80% of the set homework on time, and if you're still not convinced, one message gets you a full refund of every class. You commit to engaging, we commit to the result.
Is there really no lock-in contract?
Really. Weekly pathways are pay-as-you-go, auto-deducted one week at a time, with no enrolment fees, no term commitments and no exit conditions. The only upfront payment we do is for masterclass bundles, and even those are priced from $17.50 an hour.
Can we try before committing?
Yes, twice over. Select open workshops run completely free, using the same notes, standards and teaching as our paid pathways. And once you do join a weekly class, the 6-week confidence window means the trial effectively continues with a full refund behind it.
What happens if a class is full?
The cap of five is fixed and has never been broken, so full means full. You can join the waitlist for the next group, and as demand builds we open new classes, contacting the waitlist first, in order. In the meantime, private coaching and masterclasses stay open.
What if we miss a class?
Every class is recorded and posted to the student portal alongside its notes and resources, so nothing is ever lost if a week is missed. Questions between sessions go straight to the tutor and get a reply from a real person.
Start with one conversation.
Tell us where things stand for your student. We'll tell you honestly which pathway fits, and if none of them do, we'll say that too.
