Rates step up slightly with year level because senior content takes more preparation to teach properly. That's the only thing that moves them.

A note on the rates above. The majority of tutors at Clarity Coaching follow the rates on this page. A small number of our longest-serving coaches, including Vihanga, set their rates above these figures. If that applies to your match, you'll know the exact rate before any payment, and you're always free to choose a standard-rate tutor instead.
Where the money actually goes.
At these prices, most of the industry hands out photocopied past papers. We write everything ourselves, for the students in front of us. All of it is in the rate; none of it costs extra.
Custom SACs
School-assessed coursework written specifically for your student or their group, matched to their school's style and level, so nothing on assessment day feels unfamiliar.
Mock exams, marked properly
Mocks written for the cohort, sat under conditions, and marked to VCAA guidelines with a full examiner's report. Not a score in red pen, but an explanation of exactly where marks were won and lost.
Individual corrections
Personal feedback on the student's own work, targeted at the precise point their understanding breaks down. In focus groups this happens outside class hours, so no one disappears into the average.
Notes written from scratch
Annotated notes and worksheets built for each class, with exam technique woven through progressively. You never pay for our materials separately, and you never receive recycled ones.
Recordings and the portal
Every class recorded and posted with its notes to the student portal. A missed week is never a lost week, and revision material builds up all year.
Written progress reports
On weekly pathways, families receive detailed written updates covering strengths, gaps and what comes next. You always know where things stand without having to ask.

How does the weekly billing actually work?
Private coaching and focus groups are pay-as-you-go. Payments are auto-deducted weekly, so you only ever pay for the week ahead. There's no upfront package, no term commitment, and if it stops working for your student, you simply stop. Your exact schedule is confirmed when you book a session.
Do all tutors charge these rates?
The majority do, and most students pay exactly the figures on this page. A small number of our longest-serving coaches, including Vihanga, set their rates above these. If your match is one of them, you'll see the exact rate before any payment, and you're always free to choose a standard-rate tutor instead.
Why do Year 11 and 12 cost slightly more?
Senior content takes more to teach properly: VCAA-aligned mocks, examiner-style marking, SAC preparation, and materials that hold up at exam level. The step is small and it reflects real preparation time, not a premium for the sake of it.
What has to be paid upfront?
Only masterclass bundles. When you take a sequence of masterclasses covering a whole subject or exam, most bundles are paid upfront, with the total always shown first. Everything else is weekly or per session.
Does the group size change the price?
No. Whether your focus group has three, four or five students, the rate is the same. The cap of five exists for teaching quality, not pricing tiers.
Are there any other costs at all?
Just your own textbooks, scientific calculator, and CAS software or calculator where the subject requires them. We don't supply those, and we'll tell you exactly what's needed within your first weeks. Everything we create, notes, SACs, mocks, recordings, reports, is included in the rate.
